Streaming Services

On every TV, we have Netflix, Disney+, and YouTube available for you to watch. Browse your favorite shows and movies while we take the time to work on your teeth. You’re welcome to bring your own headphones in with you or in the instance you forget them at home, we have headphones for you here at our Orange Park, FL, dental office.

Oral Sedation

Anti-anxiety medication is taken in the form of a pill before the start of your dental procedure. The dosage can be adjusted to produce a mild to moderate sedation effect. Commonly prescribed medications include Valium or Halcion which will make you feel more relaxed and drowsier.

Oral sedation involves the use of a variety of drugs called anxiolytics to calm a patient or put them in a relaxed state during their dental treatments. Anxiolytics allow patients to feel at ease and have a comfortable experience.

Please inform your doctor and let Dr. Marino know if you have:

• Any drug allergies
• Narrow-angle glaucoma
• Recently been or are currently pregnant
• Severe respiratory disease (COPD)
• Congestive heart failure (CHF)
• Impaired kidney or liver function
• Depression/bipolar disorder/related conditions
• Chronic bronchitis and another long-term illness
• Other medications you’re taking

Note: As with any form of sedation dentistry, it is required that you have a friend or family member drive you to and from the office as the drowsiness will last for some time after your procedure(s).

Laughing Gas

The use of laughing gas can provide the sensation of relaxation without being fully sedated or needing a chaperone to take you to and from your appointment. First, a small mask is placed over your nose. Oxygen is then turned on for several minutes before adding the other component.

As you inhale the gas over time, it will make you feel chill and comfortable. When your procedure is over, the laughing gas will be shut off, but the oxygen will be left on for a minimum of five minutes. This is done to help ensure that all laughing gas has left your system. The effects wear off very quickly and do not linger which means you can drive yourself home.

Therapy Dogs

Our two adorable therapy dogs, Leo and Polo, are here to put a smile on your face! You’re welcome to enjoy time with them while you wait for your appointment to start and during your procedures if desired. They’re both trained to put patients of all ages at ease and provide much appreciated emotional support.
